See you out on the water! SVSC.
SVSC is a small, friendly and family orientated club based at Swan Pool in the Sandwell Valley Country Park. We offer an active sailing program for all ages and abilities, including friendly club racing, training and general sailing with safety boat support.
Welcome to Sandwell Valley Sailing Club.
For those new to the sport, why not contact us about a taster session? We can get you afloat for your first sail with an experienced sailor or instructor. Click here for more details.
As a recognised RYA Training Centre, we are able to provide a full range of Dinghy, Windsurf and Powerboat courses and qualifications, with expert tuition and guidance from our qualified RYA Instructors. Click here for more details.
If you are simply looking for a new club or to join us as a member, then click here to learn more about our extremely competative membership options and review our current Membership Packages.
We meet on Thursday afternoons (& in summer evenings) and Saturday afternoons.
If you are in the area and fancy dropping by, we would be more than happy to show you around or discuss ways in which we may be able to get you afloat.
Due to a burst pipe there is no water in the building
So no toilets, no showers, no water in galley.
Sue has provided buckets of water for washing and loo-flushing, but obviously it is limited.
Normal supply is expected to be resumed by Saturday 21 July
The lake has a green bloom which the park has warned MAY contain blue-green algae and that swimming and watersports may be a health hazard to both people and pets.
Some of us have continued sailing and, despite my usual capsize, have so far suffered no ill effects.
Anyone choosing to sail does so at their own risk. Extra caution about washing, especially before eating or handling food, is strongly advised.
As if that were not enough, part of the ceiling in the galley has fallen down, making it even less hospitable!
We hope to resume sailing as usual on Sat 22nd July.
Adult members may choose to sail this week, or help Rob clearing up (see below)
